Aquasaurs (Triops Longicaudatus) have existed for more that 350 million years. They are fresh water animals that belong to the class crustacea, and are related to shrimp, crabs and lobsters. Sometimes they're referred to as tadpole shrimp because of their similarity to frog tadpoles. Aquasaurs also resemble trilobites -- extinct creatures that lived more than 500 million years ago. Live aquasaur eggs are supplied! Just add water and watch them start to hatch within 24 hours! The habitat includes a magnifier cap, secure lid with air holes, and a prehistoric scene with glowing volcanoes. It's an aquarium-style habitat made of flexible plastic. A self-adhesive thermometer is provided to maintain water temperature. Includes one Aquasaur habitat, one thermometer, gravel, Aquqsaur eggs, Aquasaur food and two stirrers. Requires bottle of spring water, paper, scissors and plastic cups. Size 7 1/8 inches high x 8.75 inches wide. For ages 6 and up. Adult supervision is suggested.
