Named after one of the most famous American generals of WWII, the M47 Patton entered service at the tail end of the Korean War. It was equipped with a number of innovative features including a stabilized 90mm gun and an increased rate of fire over the M46 and older tank designs. The M48 version featured even more improvements and was widely exported. Among these is Korea which has added night vision systems and armoured side skirts.
